Fish & Ships

Post Number:#1  Postby Monty Stubble » Sat Jun 09, 2012 2:38 pm

Those of you lucky enough to live near or visit Whitby should look in at the Captain Cook Museum where the current exhibition entitled 'Fish and Ships' runs to the end of the year.

The exhibition deals with the food which sailors both ate on their voyage with Cook to the South Seas and consumed when they got there.

There are some very interesting exhibits to look at and my favourite is Sir Joseph Banks' portable cooking apparatus. A joy in miniature.

Thanks for posting this up, Monty, and the photos make the event look irresistible. Definitely something to think about when planning next year's holidays. :D

I see from the Museum website they have an exhibition each year. The admission prices are not bad either.
